Fundamentals Series: In this recording of a two-hour teleconference, participants new to reviewing financial disclosure reports for conflicts of interest and appearance issues will be introduced to the criminal conflict of interest statute 18 U.S.C. § 208, the regulatory exemptions at 5 C.F.R. Part 2640, and the impartiality provisions in 5 C.F.R. § 2635.502. Discussions will cover processes for identifying potential conflicts and appearance concerns. Participants will apply what they learn by reviewing a sample OGE Form 278.
