Training on the Amendments to 5 C.F.R. 2635 Subpart B, Restrictions on Gifts from Sources outside the Government

January 5, 2017

In a two-part web broadcast, Leigh Francis from OGE’s Ethics Law and Policy Branch reviewed the recent amendments to 5 C.F.R. Part 2635, Subpart B, which were published as a final rule on November 18, 2016. See 81 FR 81641-81657.

In Part I of the broadcast, which was held on Wednesday, December 7, he discussed structural changes the rule makes to Subpart B’s current framework, including the new 5 C.F.R. § 2635.201(b) (“Considerations for declining otherwise permissible gifts.”).

In Part II of the broadcast, which took place on Wednesday, December 14, he discussed changes the rule makes to Subpart B’s gift exceptions, located at 5 C.F.R. § 2635.204. You may access the final rule at the following link:  https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2016-11-18/pdf/2016-27036.pdf.
