Announcing OGE’s New Ethics Counsel

June 29, 2026


Today, Scott de la Vega was sworn in as OGE’s Ethics Counsel, Ethics Law and Disclosure Division.

Mr. de la Vega comes to OGE with a wealth of experience in ethics and government leadership. He previously served as the Designated Agency Ethics Official at the Department of the Interior as well as an ethics official at a number of agencies including the White House, Office of the Vice President, Office of Administration and the Consumer Product Safety Commission.  Earlier in his career he was a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Mr. de la Vega holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University at Albany, SUNY and a Juris Doctor from the Syracuse University College of Law.
